Sports Minister Vijay Goel asks Twitterati for suggestions on Olympics preparation
India’s Sports Minister Vijay Goel has asked Twitterati to suggest ways to prepare for the next Olympics, which will be held in Tokyo in 2020. The suggestions which poured in ranged from increase in investment, foreign coaching, to preventing Netas from traveling with athletes to these events.
“The Tokyo Olympics is in 4 years but we can't lose time, hence it's important to speed up the preparation as if it's just 1 year away. Do share your suggestions,” Vijay Goel had written on his Twitter account on Wednesday. This is perhaps the first time the Sports Ministry have opened themselves up to public suggestions, and it did create a lot of engagement on the social media.
Although it is yet to be seen as to how these suggestions are actually implemented, it is a good start none the less, especially after the dismal performance by the nation’s largest-ever Olympic contingent at Rio.
Here are some of the suggestions Vijay Goel has received:

However, some of the fans took this opportunity to troll the minister, especially after his recent gaffe at the Rio Olympics.
@VijayGoelBJP Sir, here is my suggestion. Please allow only the athletes to travel, Netas must stay at home. Don't repeat Rio @RShivshankar
