ICC World Cup 2019 | 'Don’t you have any sense about what to do?' - Yograj Singh blasts MS Dhoni

Yograj Singh has once again went on a rant against MS Dhoni, saying that the veteran batsman purposely lost the semi-final against New Zealand. Yograj, who earlier blamed Dhoni for Ambati Rayudu’s retirement, questioned Dhoni’s lack of big hitting when the team needed it the most.

After the 2011 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh, Player of the Tournament, was dropped from the side. His father, Yograj, blamed Dhoni. Recently, as the 2019 edition was going on, Rayudu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Yograj, again, blamed Dhoni. The latest accusation comes from Dhoni rotating strike when India were six down, chasing 240, and with Ravindra Jadeja going well at the other end.

“Mr Mahendra Singh Dhoni, you have played so much cricket. Don’t you have any sense about what to do and what not? You got so many half-volleys, you hit huge sixes, what happened to you at that moment? Were you worried? You should have got out. What difference would it have made?" Yograj told NNIS, reported TimesNow.

The former Indian Test cricketer was furious with shifting the responsibility onto the youngsters at the other end, first Hardik Pandya and later, Jadeja. Both of them got out trying to up the ante.

“One boy (Ravindra Jadeja) comes and he starts playing the big shots at will without any worry. You are batting on the other end. You are telling him to play the shots while he was batting on 77. Before that, you told Hardik Pandya to take on the spinners. Did Yuvraj ever tell any other player to play the shots as you do?” Yograj added.

India are set to tour West Indies next month, with the squad to be announced on July 19. Dhoni, whose future has been widely discussed, is yet to announce whether or not he is hanging up his boots right away.
