Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to send a heartfelt message to his teammate Yuvraj Singh saying that the former all-rounder deserved a 'better send-off'. Singh, who declared his retirement on Monday, responded with an equally emotional reply as he thanked the Mumbai Indians skipper for his kind words.

Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh enjoyed some great times with the Indian national team and played alongside each other in good times and bad. The duo have enjoyed a good camaraderie on and off the pitch as well and Rohit was visibly moved when Yuvraj announced his retirement from international cricket on Monday.

The Indian opener, who is currently in England playing the ICC World Cup 2019, took to popular social media site Twitter to express his deep gratitude and love for the talented all-rounder. Sharma, who played alongside Yuvraj at the IPL 2019, added that Yuvraj deserved a better farewell after all he did for Indian cricket.

“You don’t know what you got till its gone. Love you brotherman. You deserved a better send off,” wrote the Indian vice-captain on Twitter.

In response to that, the former KXIP all-rounder replied by saying that, "You know how I feel inside ! Love u brothaman you go be a legend <3".

The Punjab-born cricketer had earlier said that it would be a disaster and abomination if Rohit Sharma didn’t go on to score 10,000 test runs. Yuvraj, who was the ICC World Cup 2011 man of the tournament, played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is for India. He put together 1900 runs in the longest format and 8701 in the ODI format.
