Responding to Shoaib Akhtar's criticism after Pakistan's defeat against India, Sarfaraz Ahmed has said that if he will say something then the Akhtar will start scolding the players again. Sarfaraz has also added that some people who sit in front of the television think that they are God.

Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has responded to Shoaib Akhtar’s criticism of both himself and the Pakistan Cricket Team post their defeat to India at Old Trafford on the 16th of June. Shoaib Akhtar, who was open in venting out his frustration against the Men in Green, had earlier termed Sarfaraz Ahmed “brainless” for his decision making against India, including the decision to bowl first.

Earlier this week, Shoaib Akthar expressed his displeasure in a video in his YouTube channel, where he channelled his frustration and criticised Sarafaraz and his men for their dismal performance against India.

“I can’t understand how Sarfraz can be so brainless. How could he forget that we don’t chase very well. Knowing our strength, which is bowling, is important. The game was half-won by Pakistan when Sarfaraz won the toss, but he tried hard to lose the match,” Shoaib had said in the video.

Responding to the criticism of the former pacer, Sarfaraz said that he didn’t want to hit back at Akhtar’s comments, fearing it will only cause a further backlash.

“If I say something to him, then he’ll start scolding us again. As per him, we aren’t players. I don’t want to tell what we are. If we speak out then we’ll be bashed for retaliating”, said Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz also said that some people who sit in front of the television think that they’re God. “Some people are sitting on the television, thinking they are God,” said a seemingly frustrated Sarfaraz,  in the pre-match press conference before the South Africa clash.Pakistan kept their hopes of making the semi-final alive with a thumping 49-run victory against South Africa. They now travel to Edgbaston where they take on an unbeaten New Zealand side on June 26.
