Newly formed Hyderabad FC will be without the services of their Spanish midfielder Nestor Gordillo for the first eight matches of their debut Indian Super League (ISL) season. Gordillo will be able to make his debut for Hyderabad FC in the return fixture of their opener when they host ATK.

Newly formed Hyderabad FC will be without the services of their Spanish midfielder Nestor Gordillo for the first eight matches of their debut Indian Super League (ISL) season. Hyderabad is set to make its ISL debut against former champions ATK at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Friday.

Former Chennai City FC player, Gordillo will be ineligible for selection until December due to a four-month ban he has been handed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Players' Status Committee on August 13 this year for penning down a "pre-contract" with the now-dissolved FC Pune City despite having a year left on his contract with Chennai City FC.

Never really able to make a mark on the big stage in Spain, Gordillo scored eight goals for Chennai City FC in their I-league winning 2018-19 campaign. The latest the 30-year-old can be available for the current ISL season is when Hyderabad FC hosts ATK on December 21 in the reverse fixture of their opener.
