After picking up a fifer in SRH's victory against KXIP, Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed off his journalistic skills as he interviewed the Afghan duo of Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi. The Indian pacer made Khan reveal his tactics against set batsmen that have paid huge dividends for the defending Champions.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 5/19 helped the Sunrisers Hyderabad seal a five-run victory over Kings XI Punjab yesterday and fittingly he was awarded the man of the match for his performance with the ball. Earlier in the match, defending a target of 160, Bhuvneshwar’s initial spell had left the Kings XI reeling at 16/2, before the Afghan duo of Khan and Nabi took charge of the game. Though Khan did not have the best of starts as he gave away 19 runs in his first over, he managed to get his act together and soon struck back with the wickets of David Miller and Wriddhiman Saha.

After the match, Bhuvneshwar managed to get behind the mic and quizzed his teammates on their performance in the match and even got Khan to reveal his tactics while bowling to set batsmen.

"I was nervous after conceding 19 runs in my first over. I knew that I had bowled loose deliveries but was confident that I will bounce back. I decided to bowl wicket to wicket and the plan was executed successfully. I will go with the same plan in the upcoming matches," Khan told the interviewer Bhuvneshwar after the game.

Khan, who has taken the cricketing world by storm at this year’s IPL, revealed that the secret to his success was that he tried to outfox the batsmen by contradicting their thoughts.

"My strategy is always to bowl just opposite of a batsman's mind. If a batsman tries to counter the googly, I try to bowl the leg spinner as much as possible. This trick always helps me in getting wickets. I follow this strategy and the batsman gives his wicket automatically."

After giving a debut to the first Afghan player in the IPL, SRH handed Mohammad Nabi his IPL debut as well. The former Afghan captain was also in for an unceremonious welcome as Eoin Morgan hit him for a huge six off his very first ball. But it was Nabi who had the last laugh as he uprooted Morgan’s middle stump to claim his first ever IPL scalp.

"I was under pressure as this was my first-ever IPL match. The pressure increased for me when my first ball was slammed for a six. Our team was 10-15 runs short and I had decided to deliver at any cost. I bowled wicket-to-wicket and that worked. This was my first match and will definitely do well in the coming matches," Nabi told Kumar after the game.
