The MCC World Cricket Committee will meet at the Lord's on July 3rd and 4th to discuss the inclusion of T20 cricket in the 2024 Olympics. The meet, which will be attended by Sourav Ganguly, will also see discussions over the future of Test cricket and the Australian cricketers' pay dispute.

Former Indian skipper Ganguly will attend the MCC's World Cricket Committee that will be addressed by ICC chief executive Dave Richardson. The main agenda of the meeting would be to discuss the inclusion of T20 cricket in the 2024 Olympics, the concept of four-day Tests, Australian players' pay dispute, revenue sharing agreements, and expansion of membership rights for Afghanistan and Ireland who were recently awarded Test status.

“We need to make a decision by July so we can make an application in time for September, when, as I understand it, the (International Olympic Committee) will consider new sports for 2024,” Richardson had said on the inclusion of Cricket into Olympics.

The host city for the 2024 Olympics is to be decided in September this year with Los Angeles and Paris as the only competitors.

“BCCI is not keen on bringing Twenty20 to Olympics. This has been previously discussed,” Ganguly told PTI.

The Indian cricket board might have to give up its 'member autonomy' if they join Olympics which is one of the key issues that have kept them away from Indian Olympic Association and the Sports Ministry.

The first day would be devoted to points 6.3 and 6.4 on the agenda that include the inclusion of cricket in Olympics and future of Tests with regards to Tests championship, day-night and four-day format.

In the second session of the first day, discussions regarding DRS, calling of no balls by the third umpire, Australian players' pay dispute and corruption in cricket would be taken up.

On the second day, there will be a discussion regarding India's cricket administration, Commonwealth tour of Pakistan, and England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow would present the players' view.
