However, in a match between SRH and KXIP, it was Manish Pandey who confidently told the umpire that Barinder Sran had over-stepped after Shakib had been caught at third man.
Table toppers Kings XI Punjab got off to a flyer against Sunrisers Hyderabad as they sent both Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan back with the scoreboard reading 16/2 in three overs. It could have been worse as R Ashwin dropped a simple catch, which would have forced Manish Pandey to rejoin his teammates in the dugout.
However, after Ankit Rajpoot got rid of Saha on the penultimate ball of the fifth over, Pandey was handed another life as he was dropped by Andrew Tye on the very next ball. Two balls later, it was Pandey’s turn to act as the saviour and it was his quick thinking that saved Shakib Al Hasan from a premature dismissal.
