In a fast paced format like T20 where only a lucky few get second chances to right their wrongs, there is hardly any window for mistakes. And SRH wicket keeper Shreevats Goswami showed it exactly as he dismissed Harshal Patel on his second attempt after fumbling terribly in his first try.

The struggling Delhi Daredevils have enjoyed somewhat of a semi-resurgence under new the leadership of in the form Shreyas Iyer after skipper Gautam Gambhir opted to step down. The likes of Rishabh Pant, Trent Boult and Iyer have performed incredibly well for the northerners despite a poor run of results throughout the tournament.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad top the league standings at this stage of the tournament with some impressive displays on the pitch by their bowling department. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Siddarth Kaul and Rashid Khan have all been amazing for SRH under the leadership of Kiwi player Kane Williamson. And as always been the case in IPL, lady luck has certainly played a major role as was evident in tonight’s game as well.

After Pant was solely at fault for the crucial dismissal of skipper Shreyas Iyer in the eighth over of the match, the nervy youngster was again at it six overs later, this time, it was Harshal Patel, who had looked to be in good touch after coming on.

In the fourth ball of the fourteenth over, Pant hit Rashid Khan towards the boundary and was out of his crease calling for a single. However, after the first run, while Patel ran back for the second on Pant insistence, the latter opted to stay put just as he had done with Iyer at the other end.

Patel had accepted his fate and had stopped trying to get back as he was long way out of his end, but when he saw Shreevats Goswami failing to collect the ball on the first attempt, Patel attempted a last-gasp move to return to his end. However, an agile Goswami showed fast reflexes to turn, recollect the ball, and throw it at the stumps.

It was all completed in a flash with Patel falling on the ground after his diving attempt. The third-umpire replays indicated that Patel was way behind the line when the bails were dislodged as Goswami was saved the blushes.
