MI vs CSK | Player Ratings - Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav star as Mumbai Indians thrash Chennai Super Kings
A truly all round performance from Hardik Pandya allied with some able support from Suryakumar Yadav (59) and Jason Behrendorff (2/22) helped Mumbai Indians seal a 37-run victory over Chennai Super Kings. Hardik scored a quickfire 25 off 8 balls before finishing with figures of 3/20 with the ball.

Suryakumar Yadav (8/10): There were calls to replace Suryakumar Yadav with Ishan Kishan, but the Mumbaikar silenced them with a measured performance. Of course, one could argue it wasn’t a fluent
Yuvraj Singh (2/10): Wankhede and Yuvraj share a love story like no other. He may not have impacted the World Cup final like the way he had done in other matches of the tournament, but the eventual prize made him a celebrated character for Indian cricket fans and Wankhede will always be that special ground for him. But his ‘home’ return didn’t work out well for the southpaw as he could only score four runs in his six-ball stay at the crease. Looked under-confident and even the combined chants couldn’t lift him.
Krunal Pandya (7/10): Did well to hang in there after the top-order failure and waited for his opportunity to get going. It was crucial at that stage because Suryakumar Yadav looked a bit fuzzy in the beginning and Dhoni’s assortment of pacers was good as well. The

He did that brilliantly tonight - at times off the good length, most times on yorker lengths - which would definitely go as a tutorial package for the young pacers.
Lasith Malinga (8/10): Mumbai Indians’ most experienced player found a way out every time he steps onto the field, and tonight he just showed what the team will miss when he will go back home tomorrow for the Super Provincial tournament in Sri Lanka. Was just terrific with the old ball, managing to move it both ways, and surprisingly extracted sufficient amount of reverse swing at the backend of the innings.
Jason Behrendorff (7.5/10): This is the kind of debut cricketers fantasize about and Jason Behrendorff would probably be over the moon after the game. His first ball was a simple outswinger and ended his spell with a back-of-the-hand slower ball, but in between Behrendorff did everything to keep Chennai batsmen on their toes. 2/22 would give him further confidence to do well in the upcoming matches.
