After his blistering knock against Rajasthan Royals in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League, Rishabh Pant has said that the thoughts of World Cup selection process were rolling over in his mind. Delhi Capitals are now top the points table after this scintillating win against RR.

Delhi Capitals registered their seventh win in the 12th edition of Indian Premier League after beating Rajasthan Royals by six wickets in Jaipur on Monday. Even after a terrific ton by Ajinkya Rahane in the first half, RR bowlers failed to control the blow created by DC’s batsmen in the second half of the contest.

Rishabh Pant was at his destructive best and charged up the chase with an unbeaten 78 off 36 deliveries. The 21-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman was kept out from the 15-man squad for the upcoming World Cup and Dinesh Karthik was selected in his place as the back-up wicketkeeper in the squad. After the end of the game against RR, Pant has said that the thoughts of the selection process were running in his mind throughout the game.

"I am feeling lovely. To make your team win in an important match is a good feeling. I won't lie, the selection thought was running in my mind," Pant said at the post-match press conference, reported TOI.

He also mentioned that each member of the team did their role well throughout the game and also claimed that he focussed on his process which worked in his favour during the match-winning knock yesterday.

"I focussed on my process and it worked for me. The wicket was playing good, and I just took advantage of that, I guess. Most important thing for our team is that everyone knows our role, and the support staff tells us, 'this is your role, and this is what is going to happen to you," the 21-year-old added.
