India vs Australia | Numbers and records from India’s historic series win Down Under
Virat Kohli and co have made history in Australia by becoming the first Indian team to win a Test series Down Under. Many records were broken and many were made in the course of the four-match series, and the Indian team will take solace from the fact and go for a happy sleep tonight.

1 - Rishabh Pant became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a Test century in Australia, having previously scored one against England in September. For India, Farokh Engineer's 89 at Adelaide in 1967 was the previous highest by an Indian wicket-keeper in Australia.
1- For the first time, Indian pacers outbowled their Australian counterparts in Australia. While the Indian pacers picked up 50 wickets in the series at an average of 23.54, Aussie pacers managed to secure 40 wickets at 32.27.

4 - This is Virat Kohli's fourth away Test series win - the joint most for an Indian captain alongside Sourav Ganguly. While Team India under Virat Kohli beat Sri Lanka twice away, they have registered a series victory in Windies along with this one in Australia.

8 - Before Cheteshwar Pujara, who was dismissed for 193 in the Sydney Test, seven batsmen were dismissed in the 190s in Tests and Pujara became the eighth batsmen to do so. It should be noted that Virender Sehwag is the only other Indian to be dismissed in the 190s against Australia.

17 - Jasprit Bumrah averaged only 17 in the due course of four Test matches, which is the best by an Indian pacer in Australia, with the minimum wicket mark being 10.
21 - Rishabh Pant became the youngest wicket-keeper to score a 150 in Test cricket. He broke the record of Tatenda Taibu in the process.
322 - India took a 322-run lead in the SCG Test which was India’s second highest first innings lead against Australia. Their lead of 400 runs at the Eden Gardens in 1998 is still the highest.
1258 - Pujara faced as many as 1258 deliveries in the series, thus playing out the fourth highest number of balls in a four or more number of matches series. Rahul Dravid still holds the record of playing most number of balls in a series among Indians playing out 1336 balls in India’s tour of England in 2002.
1990 - In this series, Australia recorded their lowest batting average in a home series since 1900 (in three-plus Tests). Their top seven averaged 26.71 in the series which is the lowest for them in a home series since 1984/85 when they managed an average of 25.65 against Clive Lloyd's West Indies.
