Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has rejected the claims of the side being over-reliant on its top order batsmen. Notably, Dhawan along with his opening partner Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli have been the ones who are scoring the bulk of the runs for the Indian team at the top order.

The middle-order of the Indian team was exposed recently when the top three of the side couldn't score runs in a bulk. Indians lost the home series to Australia after leading in the 5-match series by 2-0. Ever since that, there have been talks going around the middle-order of the side, including the number 4 batting position debate.

However, Dhawan doesn't seem to accept the fact that the team is over-reliant on the top three players of the team. Speaking to Cricbuzz, the southpaw termed the squad full of talented players.

"Not just the three of us, the other boys have chipped in as well. We have Kedar (Jadhav), Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), Hardik (Pandya) has been amazing and KL Rahul is there as well. Vijay Shankar has come in, he's a talented boy. So we have a great squad," the 33-year-old told Cricbuzz.

Notably, known for his explosive batting, Dhawan also added that even though India are favourites to win the tournament along with hosts England, the team will not be taking any pressure. He added that they'll have everything under control.

Talking about India's performance in the past, Dhawan said that having scored so many centuries and broken records, the team knows how to handle the pressure.

"We have been doing it for five years now, so nothing's going to change," he said. "We're just going to go and play. We've scored so many centuries. Broken so many records. We know how to do it. We know how to do it, we are not going to overthink it. It's alright if it is the World Cup," said the Delhi Capitals opener who has scored 470 runs in the ongoing IPL with the help of five half-centuries.
