India leapfrogged the West Indies to secure the fourth position in the latest Women’s T20I rankings after completing a 5-0 series whitewash in the Caribbean this week. Meanwhile, Jemimah Rodrigues jumped to fourth among the batsmen, while left-arm spinner Radha Yadav is placed second among bowlers.

The latest ICC Women's rankings for teams and players has come bearing many gifts for the red-hot Indian Women’s team. Having completed a stunning series sweep, India climbed above their hosts to be placed fourth with 260 points, while West Indies — having lost 10 points — now has 248.

Besides Jemimah, young Shafali Verma and Veda Krishnamurthy also made significant progress in the batting charts. Courtesy of her 96 runs in the series, Jemimah moved up three places to the fourth position, while series top-scorer Shafali gained 57 slots to reach 30th position. Veda, who scored 77 runs including a match-winning 57 in the final match, moved from 61st to 49th.

With Radha moved up to the second spot, there are now three Indian bowlers in the top five ranking spots — Deepti Sharma in fourth, while Poonam Yadav. For her impressive showing throughout the series, off-spinner Anuja Patil jumped eight places to 21st, while fast bowler Shikha Pandey moved up 11 places to 43rd.

Among the hosts, Shemaine Campbelle (up three places from 68th), and spinner Hayley Matthews (up nine places to 27th) and Anisa Mohammed (up two places to 45th) added some colour to what has been a disastrous month for the Windies.
