Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson has stated that Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram were amazing in the field and played a key role in win against Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets. Williamson also praised the bowlers saying they picked early wickets and death bowling was great too.

After losing their first two games in IPL 2022, Sunrisers Hyderabad have changed their fortunes winning three matches in a row. SRH won against KKR by seven wickets with ease and they outplayed the opponents in all departments. SRH  picked three wickets in the power play but Nitish Rana and Andre Russell played vital knocks. KKR posted a total of 175/8 and SRH chased it with ease.

Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram scored half-centuries playing a key role in the win. Summarising the result, captain Kane Williamson praised Tripathi and Markram saying they were brilliant on the field.

“It was a step up again. It was important to take early wickets with the ball against KKR. A little bit of dew came in which was helpful for us. The death bowling was great too. Rahul Tripathi was amazing and so was Aiden Markram, although in different roles,” Williamson stated in post-match presentation

Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets. Marco Jansen conceded 26 runs and picked a single wicket of Aaaron Finch. Umran Malik impressed everyone with his spell and especially his yorker to dismiss Shreyas Iyer. Williamson praised his bowlers and also added that Umran is improving day by day.

“Marco, with his bounce and pace, was a big part of our attack with Bhuvneshwar, who swings the ball. It is just about getting the fields right for Malik. He touches 150ks on every ball and has been nicked off for fours. But he has been patient. There are many little things we can work on, and the guys are working on them. We're seeing the improvement,” he stated.

Tripathi played a knock of 71 runs from 37 balls studded with four boundaries and six sixes. He continued his good form and the chase became very easy for SRH due to his innings. Tripathi stated that he enjoyed playing the knock.

“I enjoyed myself today. Russell bangs it in short if you are new, and I was looking for that shot if the ball was there. Varun bowls well, I didn't expect him to pitch it up and that's why I went through with that lofted shot. It wasn't premeditated,”  stated Rahul Tripathi

“It's been very special with KKR, and now with SRH too in the last few games. I have been struggling with my health over the last few days and the management did a very good job with me. There are days when things get tough, but I enjoy the hard work and the good days. Before going in to bat, I am a little fidgety, but I am happy that I got this innings today,”
