The second day of the Test match between India and England at Edgbaston has seen many rain interruptions. Earlier in the day, India managed to post 416 after captain Jasprit Bumrah smashed 29 from 14 balls to make sure India was on top. England's pacer James Anderson did manage to take five wickets but it seemed like the game had slipped away a bit from England.

During his stay, Root scored 31 from 67 balls.
