The tag of a ‘big-match player’ is often earned when you perform under pressure on the big stage. India’s Jasprit Bumrah might be close to attaining a similar badge as he led the bowling department from the front after cleaning up dangerous Phil Salt early in the game in the second semi-final.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Reece Topley and Sam Curran struck early inside the powerplay before a 73-run partnership between Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav stabilized the stage to set up a 172-run target for England. The dismissal of the dangerous opener sprinkled hope into the Indian camp, leaving the Twitterverse amazed.
