IPL 2024 | Twitter and Harshit Rana left stunned as careless Narine makes schoolboy error offering RCB lifeline
When it's not your day even the simplest tasks seem like daunting challenges. Such was the case with Sunil Narine in the field as he dropped a sitter to offer Glenn Maxwell a potential lifeline after leaking runs aplenty at the Chinnaswamy leaving Harshit Rana enraged.
The decision to field first went well for Shreyas Iyer as Harshit Rana dismissed Faf du Plessis early in the innings. However, Virat Kohli and Cameron Green countered the KKR bowlers to sum up a 61-run powerplay before KKR spinners and medium pacers slowed down the rate with periodic wickets. With Glenn Maxwell joining Kohli halfway through the innings, the deadly duo suffered a lifeline after Sunil Narine dropped a sitter in the 14th over.
After being summoned to the attack, Harshit Rana dished a slower one near the fourth stump that Maxwell went to slog across the line. He was too early on the stroke and hence got the top edge towards short third man where Narine was seen judging the ball in the air. The Caribbean, on his 500th T20 appearence, was slow with his reflex and ended up dropping a sitter. He was seen jumbled and eventually the ball sneaked through his hands, leaving Harshit swatting his head in anger.
