The banter on the field is part of the game's traditions and it's great when it's in the right spirit. Such was the scenario in the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals, where Ishant Sharma and Virat Kohli engaged in friendly banter, leading to Kohli's dismissal.

‌Delhi Capitals stand-in skipper Axar Patel won the toss and decided to bowl first on a green Chinnaswamy deck. Aiming for a great start, RCB openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli were off to a rollicking start scoring 23 runs in the first two overs. However, the Proteas star failed to fire and departed in the third over as all eyes were on Kohli to proceed things forward. However, the former RCB skipper's innings took an unexpected turn, humorously intertwined with a touch of Delhi camaraderie.

On the first ball of the fourth over, Kohli deftly edged past the wicket-keeper securing a boundary. Amidst the action, the Delhi bowler approached Kohli with a humorous remark. Undeterred, Kohli responded by sending Sharma's next delivery soaring over long-on for a spectacular six. The exchange of smiles between Kohli and his old Delhi comrade added an extra layer of amusement to the moment. With a wide delivery thereafter, Kohli geared up to maximize the over's potential. However, his attempt to drive Sharma's next ball towards the covers ended in misjudgment. The ball found the edge of Kohli's bat and landed straight into the hands of Delhi's wicket-keeper Abishek Porel.

As Kohli made his way back to the pavilion, Sharma approached him, offering a friendly push on the shoulder. Kohli maintained his smile and exchanged a few words before departing, igniting a frenzy on social media.
