RCB vs RR | Twitter reacts to raging Sanga after absurd DRS call gifts DK potential farewell gift
Cricket over the years has witnessed way too many umpiring howlers that have changed the course of its history and even technology hasn't been enough to get rid of them completely. The IPL Eliminator became a case in point after a quick call by the third-umpire left the Rajasthan camp incensed.
Royals Challengers Bengaluru got off to a decent start courtesy of their in-form top-order but a flurry of quick wickets in the middle overs derailed their ambitions of posting a big total in the Eliminator on Wednesday. The team soon found itself in dire straits at 122/5 in the 15th over when Dinesh Karthik walked in to play saviour once again but it wasn't to be for the veteran this time around as he was immediately trapped plumb in front by Avesh Khan. However, a seemingly desperate review shockingly culminated in an umpiring howler to gift Karthik a lifeline in what might be his last innings with the bat as a professional cricketer.
Steaming in from over the wicket, Avesh angled in a full delivery at the stumps that beat the willow's inside edge and thumped into DK's front pad. An ecstatic appeal followed and the umpire took little time to raise the finger, sending the bowling side into wild jubilation. With the team's fortunes hanging by a thread, Karthik decides to go upstairs with the hope of a miracle coming to his aid. Third umpire Anil Chaudhary obliged by reversing the decision based on Ultra Edge data, even though the footage demonstrated the bat was behind the front pad and struck the pad at the same moment the spike appeared.
Royals' team director Sangakkara was caught by the cameras wearing an annoyed expression stating the bat had struck the pad before he charged off towards the fourth umpire to make his case. Twitterati reacted similarly as they criticized the third umpire for reversing a 50-50 decision at best without conclusive evidence.
What is going on here?

No idea what happened there!
RCB is cheating with DRS

LOL! :D
I think it's high time now to introduce 4th umpire for DRS.

டேய் 3rd umpire டப்ஸா கண்ணா, DK out டா...🤷♂️🙆♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️😡😡😡#RRVsRCB
May be!
I think the spike was for the bat hitting the pad. You can see it in the real time replay, too that the bat hits the pad. The batsman did not opt for the DRS right away either. That is a terrible decision by the third umpire, Anil Chaudhury, and it was made in such haste too. pic.twitter.com/eqMyEyn2Ll

Its not RCB’s fault. Its the umpires fault

What?
RCB is so bad that they managed to make two Aussies choke in a knock out!

But at least they have the umpires in their pockets pic.twitter.com/aN537E62tf
