Manchester City has maintained their top position in the Premier League with a 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion. In another match, Anthony Martial's late winner kept Manchester United in second place in the league as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur in a hard-fought encounter at Old Trafford.

West Bromwich Albion 2 – 3 Manchester City

Manchester City provided another display of their attacking power at The Hawthorns as Pep Guardiola's side won 3-2 at West Brom which helped them stay at the top of the Premier League table. After just ten minutes of the game, Fernandinho set up Leroy Sane to hand City an early lead. Within three minutes, Rodriguez leveled for the hosts but Fernandinho’s goal in the 15th minute left West Brom with all to do again. Substitute Raheem Sterling ended any hopes of a revival as he tapped in his ninth of the season with 26 minutes left on the clock. Substitute Matt Phillips managed a goal in stoppage time but it was too little too late for the hosts.

Manchester United 1 – 0 Tottenham Hotspur

After 70 minutes of cagey, tactical football, when Jose Mourinho decided to introduce Martial in the game, some Manchester United supporters questioned the move but Martial proved that it was a masterstroke as he produced the winning goal in the 81st minute. A long kick forward by goalkeeper David De Gea was headed on by Romelu Lukaku and the French striker didn’t miss the chance with a scuffed, deflected shot finding the net with only nine minutes left.

After the goalless first half United upped their game, and that proved enough, leaving Spurs to rue the absence of Harry Kane through injury.

Arsenal 2- 1 Swansea City

In Arsene Wenger's 800th Premier League game, Arsenal came from behind yet again to beat Swansea City 2-1 to notch their third victory in a row after the 1-2 loss to Watford away. Wenger picked the same side that thrashed Everton 5-2 last weekend, which meant the star trio of Ozil, Sanchez and Lacazette started only their 2nd game of the season together.

Sam Clucas had given Swansea City a first-half lead with his maiden goal for the club in the 22nd minute after a dominant period for Arsenal which saw them hog more than 75% of the possession, but fail to penetrate the resolute Swansea defence. With Arsenal's star billing repeatedly drawing blanks, it was left to summer free signing Kolasinac to prove decisive, as he scored one and assisted Ramsey's cute finish for the 2nd in 8 second half minutes, after which the Gunners held on for a narrow victory that maintained their 100% record at home this season.
