Inter Milan are newborns and have a lot to improve upon, admits Antonio Conte
Antonio Conte believes that his new side are still in their infancy and have a long way to go before they can truly improve and thrive. The Nerazzurri are at the top of the table after a brilliant start to their Serie A campaign and face Barcelona next in their Champions League group stage.
The Nerazzurri have had a rather wonderful start to their latest season under new manager Antonio Conte, with the Italian leading them to six consecutive wins in the league. That combined with Juventus’ struggles put Inter Milan at the top of the table but their draw against Slavia Prague does show that the club have a lot to improve upon. That combined with their next round battle against Barcelona has seen manager Antonio Conte admitted that his side are like newborn babies.
The former Juventus and Chelsea boss also went on to say that he believes that his Inter project is still in its infancy and needs a lot of time before they can put their best foot forward.
"I am a coach who always gives a precise idea of football to his team. I seem to set the trend in tactics. My football has always been organised, we have an idea and work hard on a range of scenarios," said Conte reports the BBC.
With a Champions League group that includes Borussia Dortmund, Slavia Prague and Barcelona, Inter Milan do not have an easy run into the next round. But that has clearly made no difference to Conte, with the manager admitting that his side now have to press the reset button after a 1-1 draw against Slavia Prague. The Czech side somehow managed to hold Inter to a 1-1 draw on the opening day of the Champions League and Conte went on to add that he hopes his side can overcome that obstacle.
"All our performances this season have shown quality and organisation, but mentality makes the difference in getting out of tricky situations. We must now press the reset button, focus on Barcelona at Camp Nou. We're getting into the right frame of mind, but we sill have to grow a lot. We are newborns in this project,” concluded the Italian.
