Jordan Henderson has admitted that he will always be grateful to Brendan Rodgers for playing a massive part in his Liverpool career. While the midfielder was signed by Kenny Dalglish but he flourished under Brendan Rodgers and now Jurgen Klopp, winning the Champions League with the latter.

Brendan Rodgers worked miracles with the squad he inherited from Kenny Dalglish helping the Reds challenge for the title. They came very close but Manchester City eventually won the race. However, Rodgers failed to sustain his form over the next few seasons and was eventually replaced by Klopp. Yet the Irishman made quite an impression at the club, with even Jordan Henderson admitting that he will always be grateful to Rodgers.

The Liverpool captain even went on to add that it’s clear what the Leicester City boss is trying to do with the Foxes and it should come as no surprise that they’re playing this well. Appointed by Leicester City just after the 2018/19 season's winter window, Rodgers done brilliantly with the club so far with only Liverpool and Manchester City winning more points in the Premier League than Leicester City. Not only that, the Irishman has changed the Foxes' around, making them genuine top six maybe even top four contenders.

“I will always be grateful to Sir Kenny Dalglish for having enough belief in myself to bring me here in the first place. But as well as Sir Kenny, Brendan played a massive part in my Liverpool career and development as a player here. It’s already apparent that Brendan is doing for the Leicester players what he did for us when he came to Liverpool,” Henderson told Liverpoolfc.com.

"It’s obvious how much the lads there have bought into what he and his staff are looking to create and achieve, and it’s genuinely no surprise to me that they’ve made such a positive start to this season.

With former Liverpool and Arsenal star Kolo Toure working as Rodger’s assistant manager, the Ivorian has done relatively well since retiring from football. He’s current the first team coach for the Foxes and has become a member of the Ivory Coast coaching staff. That saw Henderson lavish Toure with praise, admitting that it’s no surprise that the Ivorian became a coach.

“It’s fantastic to see Kolo working by his side now as well and I’m sure the supporters will be made up to see him back at Anfield. When you share a dressing room with Kolo as a teammate, it isn’t hard to see why he achieved so much in his career as a player. His standards were unbelievably high and he was always keen to help the other lads. It’s no surprise he’s become a coach now – and a successful one with Brendan – because you could tell as a player he had both that knowledge about the game and the ability to explain it and pass it on,” concluded the Englishman.
