Tottenham midfielder Christain Eriksen will look to leave the club for free next summer on his own terms. Eriksen is set to reject the idea of him being sold by Spurs for £30 million in January. Eriksen’s contract expires next summer and talks of a new contract have hit rock bottom.

With Christian Eriksen determined to leave, reports have indicated that Mauricio Pochettino is said to be annoyed with the whole situation. The Danish midfielder has made it clear that he wants to try a new challenge and reports indicate that Spurs feel that Eriksen will reject attempts to sell him in January which will further frustrate Pochettino. The Daily Mail has reported that the Argentine manager is said to be unhappy that the midfielder remained at the club despite making it obvious that he wants a fresh challenge.

To make matters worse, Eriksen missed his penalty that caused defeat at Colchester in the Carabao Cup, causing more problems for both the club and Pochettino. Tottenham wanted £100 million for the Danish international in the summer transfer window, but now the Mail has reported that the North Londoners are willing to accept around £30 million for him.

But now dangers of their star playmaker leaving on a free transfer looming large, Spurs want to recoup as much as possible of their valuation. The playmaker holds all the cards and his desire to join a top European club can be accomplished next summer. The only way Eriksen could be seen leaving Spurs in January is if a club like Real Madrid or Barcelona makes a deal that cannot be refused.
