Reports | Manchester United hopeful they can keep Paul Pogba beyond summer

Manchester United are confident they can keep superstar Paul Pogba at the club beyond the summer window and believe that nobody can meet his ÂŁ100m plus asking price. Real Madrid and Juventus are among Pogba's suitors but are not excited to shell out anything close to the Red Devils' valuation.

Manchester United have grown in confidence in Paul Pogba’s stay at Old Trafford. The midfielder is contract bound till June 2021 and there is a contract extension clause in the Frenchman's deal with the club. However, reports indicate that the Red Devils are looking into triggering the clause, which will ensure the French midfielder doesn’t leave the club atleast until 2022.

ESPN has also reported that to afford the World Cup winner is a financial challenge that even the most elite clubs of Europe will struggle with. Zinedine Zidane has been a constant admirer of his countryman and attempted to bring him to Madrid last season. The Old Trafford club in their defense tagged Pogba with £180 million price tag and that stopped any move from materializing.

The France internationals former club Juventus have also joined Los Blancos in the race to lure Pogba away from England. Though, burdensome wages of the midfielder lingering in the region of £300,000-a-week, have seen transfer doors close for him. Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has often asserted Pogba’s loyalty to Manchester United and is sure that the midfielder is committed to the team, despite all the rumours floating around.

The former Juventus man’s agent Mino Riola sparked currents again this week as the Italian agent went on to admit that it had been a while since he negotiated a deal with Real Madrid and admitted that he intends to make sure one happens over the summer. With EURO 2020 postponed, the United midfielder’s suitors won’t get to see a lot of him until he makes a comeback from his metatarsal and ankle injury.
