Tamil Thalaivas skipper Ajay Thakur asserted that every team has a detailed plan against the opponents and the game has become tough since the technology has improved which helps in giving insights into players' mistakes. Rahul Chaudhari mentioned that it is not possible to get points in every raid.

Both Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddha were at par with each other in last night's game and the game ended in a tie. Interestingly, when the two teams met in the previous season that game had also ended in a tie. Tamil Thalaivas were lagging behind UP Yoddha when the first half ended but as usual, they made a comeback in the second half. Even then no team could have been satisfied with the lead as the match had many turning points. Tamil Thalaivas raiders were able to score 13 points as UP Yoddhas defence was much better from their previous game.

“Look all teams are strong. U.P. Yoddha have Rishank Devadiga, Monu Goyat and Shrikant Jadhav who together are equally as strong as our raiding unit. Add to that, the video analysis and people narrowing in on where everyone makes mistakes. Everyone plays matches with a detailed plan, so yes, we made mistakes. Perhaps, we could have won the match because we made a slight error in defence towards the end of the game and that made it difficult for us. If we had succeeded in that tackle, we’d have a lead and Rahul Chaudhari as well as me could have raided without much pressure,” Tamil Thailavas skipper Ajay Thakur said in the post-match press conference.

Rahul Chaudhari was able to score only five points in the entire match and he got out four times. As he was not revived right in time, it caused a problem for Thalaivas as well. However, Rahul Chaudhari spoke about his performance saying that a raider can not score in every raid.

“It’s not always possible to be successful in every raid. I enjoyed a lot of success in the last game, so other teams start planning on how to stop me. So, it’s a combination of both their planning as well as some lapses on my part, in terms of going for wrong touches. Hopefully, I’ll learn from it and play better in the next game,” Chaudhari expressed.

There was a moment in the last few seconds in the match where Tamil had the edge against the Yoddha side but Shabeer Bapu’s advanced tackle almost cost them the match. Thankfully in the last raid, skipper Ajay Thakur went and got a touch point as a result of which the match ended in a tie.

“We look at this result positively. We scored a lot of points in the second half to comeback and besides the opposition is a very strong side. They were playing a very balanced game and we kept up with them and competed well. So that’s positive and we’ll be looking to take these positives into the next game as well,” Tamil Thalaivas coach Edacherry Bhaskaran signed off.
