VIDEO | MS Dhoni signs 'See I told you' after his 'prophecy' comes true, Kuldeep left stunned
Death, taxes and MS Dhoni's prophecies are the reality. They will get you! Kuldeep Yadav got a first-hand impression of it within the space of a minute when MS Dhoni first asked him to land the ball at one point to turn in to the batsman and it exactly happened to end New Zealand innings.
It was the unimpressionable mind of MS Dhoni that has been the biggest help for the Indian team while bowling. The way he has hand-held the spinners has been one of the stories of the last two years but staying true to his nature, he has never wanted to hog the limelight for the same. Today, however, was different as Dhoni came up with a chest-thumping pride after his guidance bore fruit literally within seconds.
When Kuldeep was preparing himself to bowl the fifth delivery of the 38th over, Dhoni first signalled him to keep the ball in the full-length area and asked him to bowl from round the wicket. The wicket-keeper even advised Kuldeep that Trent Boult would find it hard to play on the front foot and would definitely go for a block without thinking anything.
"Ye aankh band karkerokega. Isko yahanse dal sakta hai," was the exact words Dhoni said.
Kuldeep, however, was a bit hesitant to land the ball from around the stumps and seeing that, the former Indian skipper said, "Tere Upar Hai".
The left-arm wrist-spinner took stock of it and decided to go with MS Dhoni's plans. On the last delivery of the over, he kept it full and bowled a googly. The ball then drifted in before spinning away. Boult was completely befuddled by that and the edge found Rohit Sharma at the slips. Kuldeep couldn’t believe the prophecy and even before celebrating the dismissal, he put his hand on his head to soak the magnificence of Dhoni’s game-reading ability. Dhoni, the proud instructor, also showed his fingers towards Kuldeep and gestured, “See I told you”.
