Virat Kohli is always animated on the field and his desire to win pushes him to a level where a single let down by a fielder or a bowler frustrates him. It was on show today once again as the Indian skipper didn’t take a silly Yuzvendra Chahal misfield calmly and threw the ball in frustration.

After winning the ODI series in Australia, Kohli spoke about how he had wanted his team to have an obsession to win overseas, and how they had caught on with it gradually. The zeal to win those games without making an excuse has also made the Indian team the best-all-format, all-weather team in the world, and it is only understandable that the Indian skipper demands the highest level of professionalism from his players.

In the 16th over of New Zealand’s inning, Kane Williamson took his hips up and played Vijay Shankar's shortish and on the leg stump delivery towards square leg where Yuzvendra Chahal was stationed. While it should have been a simple collection for the leg-spinner, he made a mess up it in the deep and the ball went in between his legs.

Although he returned to collect the ball and threw it back to the business end, Kohli was livid by the lack of judgement to collect the ball in the first place and didn’t take it lightly. When MS Dhoni threw the ball to Kohli, the Indian didn’t even look at the ball and his eyes were fixed on Chahal. After getting the ball, Kohli threw it back to the bowler’s end in frustration and returned back to his fielding position.
