ISL and I-League to come under NADA's ambit for first time
For the first time, the All India Football Federation has joined hands with National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) in promoting awareness workshops from the 2019-20 season. Both ISL and I-League will be part of the workshop that aims to spread anti-doping awareness among all the stakeholders.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has decided to come together with the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) in order to conduct workshops on anti-doping awareness. The I-League and the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) are to be part of the anti-doping workshops, which aims to spread anti-doping awareness among all the stakeholders of Indian football, including support staff and franchise owners.
This is the first time a NADA-designed program is introduced to the Indian football and the first programs were held on Saturday in Bellary and on Sunday in Bengaluru.
NADA’s Mass Athlete Awareness Program Against Doping is also set to be a regular fixture from 2019-20 onwards, both in the I-League and ISL. The National Anti-Doping Agency's initiative will help young players to not get caught on using illegal substances.
If players do consume banned substances intentionally, they will be facing serious bans. However, with better awareness and workshops that kind of unintentional usages can be avoided.
