IPL 2017 | Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Daredevils - Player ratings
Riding on the brilliant bowling display by Billy Stanlake and Tymal Mills, Royal Challengers thwarted Rishabh Pant's exceptional effort to secure their first victory of the 2017 IPL campaign. Earlier, Kedar Jadhav's 69 had propelled Bangalore to a formidable 157 runs after a top order collapse.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Shane Watson - (7/10)
The stand-in captain promoted himself up the order and started off well with two boundaries off the first over. Played well for his 25 but in the absence of top order batsmen more was expected from him. But he did pull off a Dhoni-
Chris Gayle - (4/10)

Mandeep Singh - (5/10)
Relegated to the No. 3 spot, he smashed Pat Cummins for two consecutive boundaries but eventually fell to the same bowler in the same over. Failed to step up when his team needed him the most.
Kedar Jadhav - (8/10)
If his ticket to England hasn’t been confirmed yet, don’t know whose will be. A 69-run innings that was a combination of skill, power, and elegance took RCB to a score that they could at least attempt to defend. Well deserving of the man of the match award.
Stuart Binny - (6/10)
Gave Jadhav company for a while but when it came to accelerating he was dismissed with his first real attempt at a shot. Disappointing performance and one of the favorites to be benched once Kohli is back.
Vishnu Vinod - (6/10)
The 23-year-old looked like he meant business as he hit the ball over Zaheer Khan’s head for a maximum. He sacrificed his wicket to let Jadhav continue his innings when the duo made a hash while attempting a run.
Pawan Negi - (7/10)
Struggled to get any sort of meaningful contact
Yuzvendra Chahal - (8/10)
What a bowler he is turning out to be! While people were raving about Chris Morris’ performance, Chahal had ended the day with figures of 1/19 choking out the middle overs. Got the important wicket of Brathwaite as well.
Billy Stanlake - (8/10)
Another outstanding performer for RCB today as he bowled three overs at a stretch in his first spell picking up the wicket off Karun Nair. He was brought back to finish his allotted overs early when Samson and Pant appeared to
Tymal Mills - (8/10)
Another impressive performance from the Englishman. He was brought as the second change and got the all-important first wicket for his side. Troubled the batsmen with his pace and variations continuously. Looks like a good signing for the Challengers.
Iqbal Abdulla - (6/10)
Abdulla had a day to forget at the office even though he picked up 2 wickets by the end. In his three overs, the 27-year-old conceded 36 runs which resulted in Watson not trusting him with a fourth. With Negi putting up a good bowling performance, Abdulla will have to watch his back or he too might find himself on the bench alongside Binny.
Delhi Daredevils
Sam Billings - (6/10)
The Englishman looked in good touch, keeping the scoreboard ticking and scoring at more than a run a ball. He was dismissed for 25 off a ball that deserved to end up on the third tier of the Chinnaswamy.
Aditya Tare - (6/10)
Was slow off the
Sanju Samson - (6/10)
Like Tare, Samson, too, struggled to get going and with the pressure mounting just threw away his wicket. More is expected from the wicketkeeper in the absence of major stars.
Karun Nair - (6/10)
Was caught out by a beauty by Stanlake. The ball pitched just outside the off stump and nipped back after bouncing. All the youngster could do is get a slight edge on the ball and guide it onto his leg stump.
Rishabh Pant - (9/10)
Even though he wasn’t able to see the match through, Pant, pretty much like Jadhav did for RCB, waged a lone battle by trying to get his team past the finish line. But he eventually fell short by 15 runs. But today he just gave the world a glimpse of why he is rated so highly in India.
Carlos Brathwaite - (6/10)
No heroics this time. He was lucky not be given out for LBW a ball before Chahal displaced his
Chris Morris - (7/10)
Finished the first innings with 3/21 including an astonishing 17 dot balls. Got the early wicket of Gayle but with the bat, he just needed to stay there and support Pant but was caught on his heels on an Abdulla delivery.
Pat Cummins - (7/10)
Same as Morris - tried to up the run-rate when he just had to give the strike to Pant. However, with the ball showed off his skills finishing with figures of 1/29 in his four overs.
Shahbaz Nadeem - (9/10)
Nadeem was the pick of the
Zaheer Khan - (7/10)
Zaheer Khan looks like he is back to his best as he bowled out the middle overs with ease. Like most of the bowlers on his team, he stopped the flow of runs and picked up wickets at crucial moments, including the all-important one of Jadhav.
Amit Mishra - (4/10)
Not a day that the 34-year-old will remember fondly. Even if he may forget that he was smashed for 24 runs in a single over, his batting took the team further down. Out of the 14
