Indian coach Ravi Shastri has asserted that he always believes that no team is weak while playing in home conditions ahead of the start of the T20I series against Australia. The Indian team will play three T20Is, four Tests and three ODIs against the home team on their tour Down Under.

The Australians are struggling with their form ever since the one-year ban on their skipper Steve Smith and experienced opener David Warner following the Sandpaper Gate during the Test series in South Africa earlier this year. The Indian team will be eager to outplay the Aussies they will take on the home side in the tour starting from November 21 with the T20Is while the Test matches will begin from December 6 in Adelaide. The Indian coach is of the opinion that they don’t want to take the Aussies lightly ahead of the series as they haven’t lost their aura and can be dangerous playing at home.

“I don't think so. I always believe no team is weak at home, Shastri told Cricket Australia.

"We might have three or four players not playing when a team comes to India but God forbid if anyone says it is a weak Indian team because you will be surprised."

The former all-rounder wants his team to not give an inch to the opponents during the series. He has also advised his players to focus more on the game on the field rather than anything else. He wants the Indian team to play hard but fair against the Aussies.

"We will be taking no prisoners, but are focusing on our game rather than what is happening outside," the Indian coach explained.

The coach also spoke about skipper Virat Kohli’s recent form and his record in Australia. He said that the pitches Down Under helps the style that Kohli approaches in an international game.

"He won't take his foot off the gas that is for sure," Shastri warned the Australian cricketers.

"He loves coming to Australia, he's passionate about his game and the pitches here suit his style of play."

Despite having a great run in home conditions, India had lost to South Africa 2-1 in Test matches before being thrashed by England 4-1 in away series. Recently, Men in Blue outplayed Windies by 2-0, 3-1 and 3-0 in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is before travelling to Australia.

"It's about seizing the moment. If you look at those Test matches (overseas), the scoreline doesn't really tell you the whole story," said Shastri.

"There were some very tight Test matches and we lost some big moments badly which cost us the series. It could have been just an hour in a session over four days which made all the difference – you have to learn from that."
