17-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal became the youngest Indian to score a double-century on Wednesday, after striking a blistering 203 against Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The double-ton was also Jaiswal’s third List ‘A’ ton in just 5 matches, having scored two centuries in his last three matches.

After Kerala’s Sanju Samson scored an astonishing double-ton last week against Goa, Mumbai’s teenage sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal has repeated the same feat just four days later, striking an immaculate 203 against Jharkhand in Alur. The double-ton was also the third List A century of Jaiswal’s career in just five matches, having already struck tons earlier this season against Kerala and Goa.

With this knock, Jaiswal becomes just the seventh Indian after Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Karn Kaushal and Sanju Samson to score a List A double century and the youngest of the lot. Jaiswal’s 203 saw him rip the Jharkhand bowlers to shreds, smashing 17 fours and 12 sixes en route to a 149-ball double century. This is indeed a crazy achievement by the teenager as not long ago he was playing for the Indian Under-19 team in the U19 Asia Cup. Looks like India’s future is in safe hands, after all.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Jaiswal’s double-century:
