Former Aussie cricketer Brad Hogg, on Sunday, named his all-time IPL XI and included the holy trinity of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kolhi and Dhoni, alongside both Bumrah and Pant. While Hogg’s side also featured Warner and de Villiers, veteran Suresh Raina was a notable absentee from the Aussie’s side.

A chirpy chinaman bowler who was one of the most energetic players on the field during his cricket-playing days, Brad Hogg, after quitting the game, has successfully transformed into a critic / analyst and has now started his own YouTube channel where he voices his opinion on different issues. The Australian, recently, came up with several interesting ideas - including using Private Jets to transport players to Australia to WT20 and scrapping the World Test Championship in favour of Ashes and India-Pakistan - but on Sunday, the 49-year-old decided to follow the general norm and picked what he felt was his ‘All-time IPL XI’.

The team features Rohit Sharma and David Warner, who are the third and fourth highest run-getters in the competition’s history, as openers, while the middle order is completed by RCB skipper Virat Kohli, who is the highest run-getter in the tournament’s history, AB de Villiers and, interestingly, Rishabh Pant.

MS Dhoni, the second-most successful skipper in IPL history, slots in as the wicket-keeper of the side, while Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan occupy the #7 and #8 slots as the designated spin-bowling all-rounders of the side. While Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are obvious choices as pacers, the pace-attack, much to everyone’s surprise and shock, is completed by Munaf Patel, who played for both Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians.

And despite the presence of both Dhoni and Rohit in the side, Hogg has decided to opt for Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the skipper of the star-studded XI. Suresh Raina, Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard, all three of who are considered to be all-time greats in the IPL, are notable omissions from the Australian’s all-time IPL XI.
