Mauro Icardi is set to take legal action against Inter Milan with the club not allowing him to train with the rest of the squad this season. The 26-year-old was ousted as the club captain last season, with him being told by Antonio Conte that he isn’t a part of the Italian’s plans for this season.

The former Barcelona starlet has struggled to find his way back into the Inter Milan side during the pre-season, with Antonio Conte opting to use other options. But, now with the arrival of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, Icardi has dropped further down the pecking order but has still opted to stay at the club. Reports have added that Icardi has had plenty of suitors this summer but he wants to stay and try to fight his way back into the squad.

However, Conte has shown no signs of trying to reinstate the Argentine back into the squad, with Sky Sports Italia now reporting that the Argentine is set to take legal action against the club. The report adds that the 26-year-old is demanding that the club let him return to full training, re-install as a part of the first team and has asked for €1.5 million in compensation.

Sky Sports Italia added that Icardi had appeared set to sign for Ligue 1 side AS Monaco but that move disintegrated once the former Sampdoria striker decided to sue his way back into Inter’s first team.
