Inter Milan are reported to be lining up a January move for Bundesliga star Mario Gotze with the club looking for a cut-price move. The German international has less than a year left on his current contract and that does allow him sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside Germany in January.

Inter Milan are eyeing a January move for Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze according to reports in the Daily Mail. The report added that former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has shortlisted the former Bayern Munich star as a potential cut-price midfield option, with Christian Eriksen also on the same list. However, while the Danish midfielder’s contract and wages will be reasonably high, Gotze would offer something similar at a much lower rate.

Italian news outlet Gazette Dello Sport further reported that Inter have already made contact with Dortmund over a move in the summer and will go back in January to explore the option of a cut-price move. That is over a free-transfer, with Gotze’s contract expiring at the end of this season. This will allow the 27-year-old to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside Germany.

It does put Inter at an advantage, as they would find themselves in a prime position to tempt the Bundesliga giants, as it would be the last window they could get a transfer fee for the 2014 World Cup winner.
