RB Leipzig coach Moritz Volz has confessed that the German side have more than enough in their squad to put up a team that can match PSG’s superstars in the Champions League. Leipzig faces the Ligue 1 giants in their semi-final clash with PSG walking into the game as the favourites to win.

Despite walking into the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in their history, RB Leipzig are in the semi-finals. They produced a tactical masterclass to outwit Diego Simeone and his Atletico Madrid side that saw Julian Naglesmann and his team walk away with a 2-1 win. It wasn’t as easy as many predicted, though, with both teams putting up an incredible fight, but things become even harder now for Leipzig.

They face PSG and their superstar studded team after the Parisians beat Atalanta to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. Yet despite that, Moritz Volz has admitted that he believes Leipzig “as a team can match” PSG’s superstar lineup. The Leipzig coach and former Fulham star also added that the German side know they’re facing an incredible team with some of the best players in the world and thus they’ll have to be at their best.

“When you’re in the semi-final of the Champions League and you’ve beaten established teams like Tottenham and Atlético, you know you have what it takes to go all the way. We’re far from saying we are dead certs, but we want to make sure PSG will find it really, really tough. We’re facing a different animal, a team that has great and perhaps better individual quality, certainly up front, where we’re going to face some of the best players in the world,” Voltz told the Guardian

"But we still feel very confident that as a team we can match them. Do I care that we’re probably not favourite to win it? No, I don’t. I know what we can and what we can’t do, and I certainly see an opportunity for us to stay here a little bit longer.”
