Reports | Leeds United eyeing move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler
According to RMC Sport, Leeds United are looking at a sensational move for Julian Draxler with the German midfielder out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old has struggled to find his way into Thomas Tuchel’s team and has less than a year left on his current deal with the Parisians.
Having completed permanent moves for Helder Costa, Illan Meslier and a few others, Leeds United are looking at reinforcing their team ahead of their first Premier League season in sixteen years. The Peacocks have also signed Robin Koch from Freiburg and Rodrigo from Valencia to help their cause but Marcelo Bielsa’s recruitment is far from over. Reports have linked the Elland Road team to quite a few players but the latest has shocked a few fans and critics.
Reports from RMC Sport in France have revealed that Leeds United have made a shock approach for Julian Draxler. The 26-year-old, once considered to be Germany’s next big thing, has struggled since his move to PSG in January 2017 with him making just 22 appearances last season. However, that has been a trend for the attacking midfielder and with less than one year left on his deal, reports indicate that the Peacocks believe they can get Draxler at a cut rate price.
However, while rumour has it that the German midfielder hasn’t reacted well to the news, PSG sporting director Leonardo and many at the club are looking to offload the midfielder. The club are looking to reinforce their own team ahead of another push for the Champions League trophy and are looking to free up space before making new signings.
