Ajinkya Rahane reveals that he would like to come back to India with a win in the final match of the series and end the England tour on a good note after the series loss. Rahane, who has scored 220 runs so far, added that he was happy with his own form but felt that he could do more for the team.

However, Test deputy - Ajinkya Rahane has reckoned that he would be happy if the visitors could win the last game and end the tour on a positive note after the disappointing loss to Joe Root & Co.

“When you are in a commanding position, you need to capture that situation. England did that so well. When they were in tough situations, the contributions of their numbers 7, 8 and 9 was so vital. Even though we were batting so well they persisted with patience. That is why they are up 3-1. This is the last Test but whenever you are playing for your country, it is important. If we can win this Test and go back 3-2, then that will be really good,” Rahane said ahead of the fifth Test, reported PTI.
Rahane also lavished praise at his skipper - Virat Kohli, who has bagged a total of 544 runs across the length of the series so far, stating that there was a lot the team could learn from his individual brilliance. The Mumbai-born batsman revealed that he was happy with his own stats but felt he could do more to back the team after a disappointing performance from the batting order throughout the Test series.

“The way I am batting I am really confident. I didn’t get many runs but I got a fifty and an eighty in the last two matches. I am middling the ball really well. I would like to contribute a little more to my team,” Rahane added.
