The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the squad for the second Test match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. The team has been bolstered by the inclusion of key spinner Abrar Ahmed and batter Kamran Ghulam, enhancing their capabilities in both the batting and spin departments.

‌Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam were earlier dropped from the Pakistan Test squad, and have been reinstated for the second Test against Bangladesh.

“Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam have joined the Pakistan Test squad ahead of the second Test match against Bangladesh, scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 30 August to 3 September,” PCB announced on their official website.

The players had recently been engaged in a four-day game for Pakistan Shaheens against Bangladesh ‘A’ at the Islamabad Club, which was played from August 20 to 23.

Leg spinner Abrar Ahmed is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s spin attack. With six Test matches and 38 wickets to his name, his addition is a notable enhancement to the squad. Kamran Ghulam is poised to make his debut for Pakistan, and his inclusion as a middle-order batsman is significant given his impressive record of 4,377 first-class runs.

Additionally, Shaheen Shah Afridi has returned to the squad after being released after the first Test's conclusion. Furthermore, Aamir Jamal has been brought back into the squad, although his participation in the second Test will depend on his fitness assessment.

Pakistan aims to recover from their ten-wicket defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test. The second Test begins on August 30 at Rawalpindi.

Pakistan squad for the second test against Bangladesh:  Shan Masood (C), Saud Shakeel (V-C), Aamir Jamal (subject to fitness), Abrar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper) and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
