Twitter reacts to a disappointing wash out on day 1
Fans were waiting for a treat on day 1 of the second test match between India and England in Lord's but instead had to endure boredom and left to the mercy of the rain gods. However, this didn't discourage the Twitterati to have fun and frolic and make use of the free time they had on their hands.
It’s been a while
The last time an entire day's play was washed out in a Lord's Test was in May 2001 against Pakistan (first day's play). #ENGvIND

Same here!
Feel for the people who had planned, so many months in advance, to be at the first day of the Lord's test. Such terrible weather! The good thing though is that given the drainage, play can begin pretty soon after it stops raining.

One for the bookworms!
If it rains all day, and it probably will, you could do worse than using the time to read @Numb3z’s book about a fictional Lord’s Test Match. Loved it. (Hoping for a spin-off diary of Mac’s career in full) #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/A48yPf0uMg

Seems to look like a good idea
Shift that Lord's Test from London to here, they can play even when it's pouring rain #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/N6AbqLLFgO

Amazing read
As the wait for the start of the Lord's Test continues, here's a fantastic story from @Vitu_E about the young Ollie Pope and his time in Australia https://t.co/OegXM0LFFm #ENGvIND

Extreme bad luck!
So typical... we have the hottest, driest summer ever... and all it takes is a Lord's Test.... and it's chucking it down.

True that!
So, the much-awaited start to the Lord's test has been delayed by repetitive rain...India hasn't had much luck in the series, no? #ENGvsIND

Even Sachin Tendulkar had to leave disappointed
Was all set to ring the bell at Lords to start off the 2nd Test today, but unfortunately the weather had other plans.😊

Hopefully we’ll get to see some good cricket over the next 4 days. @PaulJheeta, loved the colour of the suit. #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/rhcTi6YOfj
