Jonny Bairstow’s sensational hitting and Mohammad Nabi’s all-round efforts ensured a comfortable victory for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Capitals at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Despite David Warner, for once, failing to deliver, Manish Pandey came out as the biggest disappointment for SRH.

Jonny Bairstow (8/10): Chasing a mere 130 to win, the Englishman laid the perfect foundation with a well-made 48 off just 28 balls to put the Sunrisers in the driver’s seat. He missed out on yet another 50-plus score in a game where he was the only batsman who didn’t struggle to score. The wicketkeeper seemed to have continued from where he had left against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match before finally getting dismissed by Rahul Tewatia. He was adjudged Man of the Match for his amazing hitting at the top of the order.

David Warner (2/10): Finally a poor outing for Warner in the 12th season of the IPL as he got out for 10 off 18 deliveries. After hitting two fifties and one century in the first three games, Warner departed soon after Bairstow by hitting the ball straight to mid-off of Kagiso Rabada’s second over.

Vijay Shankar (3/10): Shankar had arrived at the crease after Bairstow set things up and would have had no doubt in his mind apart from playing every ball to its merit, considering the target. However, after staying at the crease for 21 balls, he handed over a simple catch to Iyer and got out for 16.

Manish Pandey (4/10): The Hyderabad middle-order wasn’t really tested enough with the openers getting runs at the top. Today, there was a chance for the Karnataka batsman to finish things off but after playing sensibly for a brief passage of play, he went for a big shot and was caught at deep square leg of Ishant Sharma’s ball. That was a needless shot to get out and missed out on some good points in the game. However, a diving low catch to dismiss Colin Ingram after he had missed a tough run-out chance off the previous delivery, helped him gain something from this game.

Deepak Hooda (4/10): The Baroda all-rounder was not given a chance to bowl but had an opportunity to finish the game with the bat which he wasted completely. He scored only 10 off 11 balls and got out to Sandeep Lamichhane in the 16th over putting his side in some sort of trouble.

Yusuf Pathan (6/10): Same as Hooda, he is not a regular option with the ball for his IPL side anymore. Came out to bat when there was a requirement of being calm and composed. Although he didn’t look in a great touch, the hard-hitting batsman ensured that he plays a steady knock to see his team through.

Rashid Khan (6.5/10): After going wicketless for his first three overs, Rashid Khan got the most important wicket of a well set Shreyas Iyer in the 17th over. He ended up with an impressive spell of 1/18 in his four overs. Although he managed to pick up only one wicket, his bowling was effective enough to stop the Delhi batters score runs at a brisk pace.

Mohammad Nabi (7.5/10): The Afghan all-rounder was the star in today’s game for Hyderabad. After sharing the new ball with skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar, where he picked up important wickets in the initial passage to create pressure, he scored a quick-fire 17 off nine to finish the game for SRH. Got the ball to turn and bounce from the very beginning of the game which created a lot of trouble for the Delhi batsmen. Wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant showed how effective his off-spin bowling is against the left-handers.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (7/10): He finally had a good outing with the ball as he got among the wickets today by using the slower deliveries to maximum effect. After being struck for a boundary off the first ball of the innings, he dismissed Rishabh Pant with a slower ball in his second over. Bowling the penultimate over of the innings, the change in pace worked well for the SRH skipper as he sent Chris Morris back into the pavilion. He was spot on with the bowling changes as the skipper and even took a catch in the last over after his spell of 2/27 in four overs.

Sandeep Sharma (5.5/10): Like all other SRH bowlers, Sandeep was effective during the DC innings as he conceded only 25 runs in four overs. He got the wicket of Rahul Tewatia in the middle overs to continue mounting pressure on the hosts. But, getting hit for a six in his last over by Morris and a drop catch in the 18th over are the things that went against him at the end of the innings.

Siddarth Kaul (5/10): The final over flourish by Axar Patel spoiled the figures of Kaul in the innings. He was the most expensive bowler in the Hyderabad camp as he ended up with 2/35 in four overs. He got hit for a couple of sixes by the all-rounder in the 20th over in which he also got the wicket of Kagiso Rabada. Prior to that, the Punjab pacer had only one wicket of Colin Ingram under his name.
