Alzarri Joseph was a pure delight to watch tonight and with the ball in his hand as he completely decimated Sunrisers Hyderabad to register the best figures in the IPL history. Alzarri got suitable support from another youngster Rahul Chahar, whose leg-spin was too much for the hosts to handle.

Rohit Sharma (2/10): It is high-time Rohit pulls up his socks and starts doing what he does best - some clean-hitting. The wicket was not treacherous for him to get going, but it seems like he has already lost the mental battle for a while now. Unless he works on that aspect, Mumbai Indians won’t be in a happy space.

Quinton de Kock(3/10): De Kock’s ability to clear the ropes has undoubtedly made him special, but his failure to understand the well-disguised deliveries also made him suffer at times. Siddarth Kaul’s knuckleball did the trick as the South African failed to clear it and found Deepak Hooda underneath it. Not a kind of performance the team needed after losing Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav early.

Suryakumar Yadav (2/10): It was a marginal call and could’ve been otherwise, but Suryakumar Yadav had only himself to blame for attempting a slog on a slower delivery. He looked in good touch in the last game and the momentum was on his side as well, and the failure would put him one step behind for the upcoming matches.

Ishan Kishan (2/10): It was a fruitless return for Ishan, who despite promising a good innings, ended up being a fatal failure in this match. He might consider himself unlucky for the way he was dismissed, but Kishan’s innings was nowhere close to what everyone touts him to be. Maybe it was because of the rustiness

Krunal Pandya (3/10): After the top-order failure, Mumbai promoted Krunal Pandya to stabilise the innings, but a Kaul short ball was enough to bring curtains down on his innings. This is more frustrating because his weakness against short balls are now getting exposed and as per Cricviz, he averages only 16 against short balls in the IPL.

Hardik Pandya (5/10): With the wickets assisting the spinners, Pandya Jr was going to be a trump card for the Mumbai-based franchise with the bat. However, such was the slowness of the surface - a complete opposite of what Hyderabad has traditionally produced - didn’t help his cause at all.

Kieron Pollard (9/10): It was an incredible piece of six-hitting and particularly if you weren’t done with the Andre Russell party, then it was the right after-party for you. Mumbai batsmen struggled to even score a boundary, but this guy was flicking his way to the stands. He was solely responsible for Mumbai reaching a safe score tonight, but an extra point is for that one-handed six.

Jason Behrendorff (7.5/10): After a dream IPL debut in the last game, the Mumbai pacer did well to control most parts of the innings tonight, with his natural angle creating all sorts of problems for the Hyderabad top-order. That aside, he dismissed Manish Pandey at the right time to put pressure on the hosts.

Rahul Chahar (8.5/10): After elder brother bowled a brilliant death over against Kings XI Punjab in the afternoon to lead CSK to a win, Rahul showed his worth in Hyderabad. Even though he had already pocketed a couple of wickets, the zeal to not give a single freebie made him stand-out. His brilliant ground fielding meant Mumbai had saved at least 10 runs at the boundary.

Alzarri Joseph (10/10): If it was Behrendorff in the last game, this was Alzarri Joseph’s turn to be Mumbai’s darling tonight. A late draft into the side, Joseph made Hyderabad batsmen dance to his pacy tunes to register the best figure in the IPL history. Devastating with the ball, Joseph should be given special dinner tonight.

Jasprit Bumrah(7.5/10): How many times do we see BumrahBumrah not finishing his quota of overs, yet the opposition just rolled over for 96. Alzarri Joseph was pure delight with the ball, and Bumrah must be happy for the fact that despite the absence of Lasith Malinga, the team comfortably won tonight. On a personal front, he was as good as he has always been.
