Andre Russell taking the souls of bowlers has now become such a regularity that we have started taking it for granted but even then today's innings against Delhi Capitals was something special. Dinesh Karthik also showed off his cricketing acumen by handing Kuldeep Yadav the ball in the last over.

Chris Lynn (4/10): Let me tell you, Lynn is done. No, it isn’t just because he could only score 20 runs, but because of how uncomfortable he looked at the crease. Gone are the days when he could batter powerplay bowlers mercilessly and his struggles with the shoulder become more evident with every passing day.

Nikhil Naik (1/10): “Worst opener for KKR since Aakash Chopra?” Well, my colleague suddenly dropped a message and I couldn’t stop laughing. Then, I took a look at his defence and even I have to wonder how on earth did he find a spot in Maharashtra’s Ranji Trophy team. In simple words, he wasn’t very convincing.

Robin Uthappa (3/10): The thing with Robin Uthappa is that he leaves you speechless at one moment and the next moment he will do the same but for a completely different reason. A gorgeous drive was soon followed by a misjudged shot. Had it not been for Russell’s brilliance in the middle-overs, Uthappa’s innings would have surely come under the scanner.

Nitish Rana (2/10): Law of averages caught up with Nitish Rana tonight. After guiding KKR to two consecutive wins with two consecutive fifties, Rana could only manage a single against Delhi Capitals. Batting was not that difficult, but his failure of picking up the length of deliveries would surely come up in the team meeting.

Dinesh Karthik (8/10): With the chips down, KKR needed their skipper to stand up and he delivered. This was really one of his best innings under pressure where he kept on scoring runs and inturn, managed to bring back the parity in the game. Well done, skip!

Shubman Gill (3/10): Unfortunate to be dismissed due to the Kagiso Rabada-Harshal Patel-Sandeep Lamichhane combo, but then again, he was very keen to get off the blocks, albeit the situation demanded him to take the opposite route.

Andre Russell (9/10): He is like Chris Gayle on steroids. The law of averages don’t apply for him. While DC were celebrating dismissing the top order quickly, they forgot that it meant Russell would get more balls to play. 62 off just 28 balls is, simply put, absurd. I am just going to put down his Super Over failure down to injury.

Piyush Chawla (5.5/10): A day that started with him smashing Amit Mishra for a six, ended with an average performance with the ball. With Sunil Narine rested, he needed to step up but he failed to do so. His catch in the Super Over though earns him half an extra point on the ratings.

Kuldeep Yadav (7/10): How can someone get battered for 33 runs in two overs and come back with one of the best couple of overs you will see in the death by a spinner. He hasn’t impressed too much in the purple and gold too often but maybe this is might see him become the X factor, as far as bowling is concerned, that KKR desperately need.

Lockie Ferguson (5/10): Another decent performance by the Kiwi pacer. There is nothing that you can fault him for but there isn’t anything that you can praise him for either. I believe he needs a signature performance to get his IPL career well and truly started.

Prasidh Krishna (6.5/10): He has been one of the best acquisitions that KKR have made in the last few years. While 33 runs off four overs might not look impressive on paper, the performance certainly was. Handed the ball in the Super Over tells you how much Karthik trusts him.
