The popularity of women's cricket in India has been incredibly propelled by the advent of the Women's Premier League, so much so that familiar rivalries have begun to reappear with intensity. The RCB fans let Harmanpreet Kaur know where she was on Friday with a loud display at the Chinnaswamy.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru entered the home phase of their Women's Premier League campaign high on confidence having won both their games in their Vadodara with comfortable chases. The first challenge that awaited them was Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai Indians who had enjoyed split results in Gujarat but won the toss on Friday and chose to bowl first. The visitors were immediately subjected to a Smriti Mandhana onslaught in the powerplay before Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh backed it up with rapid blitzkriegs of their own to have the team well placed at 105/4 after 13 overs, the latter duo's partnership unbeaten on 48 off just 34 deliveries. The Chinnaswamy was clearly feeling it with their two superstars going strong and things reached a fever pitch, quite literally.

The arena began to echo with loud applause and jeers, the latter presumably aimed at the women in blue. The cacophony reached such volumes that Richa Ghosh was seen pointing to her ears even with the helmet on, a privilege Harmanpreet was not afforded. The MI skipper thus decided to stick both her middle fingers in her ear lobes, a gesture that seemed to annoy the crowd even further thus raising the volumes. Nevertheless, the action carried on and as the cameras panned again on Harmanpreet, the veteran let off a slight chuckle to give away she was well aware of what she was doing.

Twitterati certainly enjoyed the passion of the Bengaluru crowd and what it brought out of the players.
