After winning the Test series against top-ranked India, South Africa failed to maintain the momentum in the ODIs and meekly conceded the first 2 matches. Shikhar Dhawan found his groove and played 35 and 51-run innings in the first two games. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav led the bowling attack as the Indian spinners claimed 13 wickets in the series at an average of 11.61.

Pitch & conditions

The first Test match of the tour was played in Cape Town where the players got green beds. However, Cape Town has been worse affected by the drought and as a result, that affected the ground as it couldn't get proper watering to maintain the green top on the ground. In the third ODI, the pitch is expected to be batsmen-friendly and the spinners will get enough turn as well.
