DC vs MI | Twitter lauds Jake Fraser-McGurk’s carnage as Delhi Capitals outmuscle Mumbai Indians

Delhi Capitals beat Mumbai Indians by 10 runs in a crucial encounter at Kotla. Chasing the mammoth total of 258 runs backed by Jake Fraser-McGurk's splendid 84 off 27 deliveries, the visitors showed some great batting with Tilak Varma’s 63 off 32 ultimately going in vain losing the contest.
Mumbai Indians began their chase strongly, with Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan guiding the score to 35/0 in three overs. However, Khaleel Ahmed broke the opening partnership by dismissing the former in the fourth over. Mumbai's worries compounded as Kishan departed cheaply in the fifth over and Suryakumar Yadav fell within the powerplay, leaving Mumbai at 65/3 after six overs. Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma then stabilized the innings, adding 50 runs in just 24 deliveries to take the score to 116/3 in 10 overs. However, impact sub, Rasikh Salam's entry in the 13th turned the tables, dismissing Pandya and Nehal Wadhera in a single over. With 85 runs required off the last five overs, Varma shifted gears, scoring a fifty off just 25 balls in a valiant effort to steer Mumbai towards victory. Mumbai’s asking rate climbed up to 21.33 as they needed 64 runs off the last three overs. Additionally, Tim David looked good with the bat as he played an important cameo of 37 off 15 deliveries and departed in the 18th over with the scorecard at 210/6. With 41 runs needed off the last two overs, Rasikh struck again and dismissed Mohammad Nabi as the visitors needed 25 runs off the last over. Unfortunately, Tilak’s brave innings of 63 runs from 32 deliveries came to an end with a run-out. As a packed Kotla waited for another thriller, Luke Wood came into bat with 22 needed off the last four balls. The English pacer hit a colossal six off the third over as Mumbai needed 15 off the last two balls with the match going in favour of the hosts. Ultimately, Delhi Capitals could manage just 247/9 in 20 overs and lost the contest by 10 runs
