Injuries in sports are not just subjected to the athletes because the crowd could get assaulted by the to and fro of a contest. Such was the scene in the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi when Tim David’s six led to an injury to a guy in the audience as MI faced off against DC in IPL 2024.

Winning the toss and electing to field first did not go well for the tourists as Jake Fraser-McGurk’s swashbuckling 84 rattled the opposition bowlers. The DC middle order complemented well to stockpile 257 runs on the board. In reply, the Mumbai-based franchise kept charging the DC bowlers despite the periodic fall of wickets with a Tim David six almost injuring a person from the crowd.

On the fifth ball of the 14th over, Khaleel Ahmed bowled a fuller, slower one outside the off stump that Tim David shuffled across the line to smash it over cow corner for a six. However, what gained a lot of attention among the crowd was that a person who tried to catch the ball got injured due to the deflection of the ball off the hand of an adjacent guy. Although there was no blood spotted via on-air broadcast, the guy was seen holding his face with a hand and escorted off the field by the police, thereby leaving the Twitterverse into a buzz.
