WATCH | Sensational Raina makes up for Chahal and Mishra fielding gaffes

Yuzvendra Chahal and Amit Mishra had nowhere to hide under lights at the Chinnaswamy Stadium following fielding gaffes that saw even the normally cool MS Dhoni lose his temper. There was some redemption, however, when Suresh Raina took one of the catches of the year in the dying embers of the match.

Although Chahal picked up the man of the match award for his exceptional bowling performance of 6/25, it didn't look like it was going to be the 26-year-old's day. Chahal was given the second over of the match by Virat Kohli and the leg-spinner repaid his captain's trust by picking up the wicket of Sam Billings. However,  on the very next delivery, Chahal was left red-faced as he missed a simple run out opportunity.

Both Jason Roy and Joe Root were stranded at the striker's end following a miscommunication. Instead of just taking the bails off at the non-striker's end, Chahal suffered a moment of madness and threw the ball to wicketkeeper Dhoni, who was incensed by the spinner's decision-making.

Next up was Mishra whose "elegant" dive drew a smile from every person watching the game. A couple of balls after the Chahal "incident", Roy placed a ball beautifully between Ashish Nehra at short fine-leg and Mishra at square-leg. Firstly it was heart warming to see Nehra run towards the ball and make an unsuccessful dive to stop the ball.

But Mishra was in no mood to let the English get any easy runs as he chased the ball down to long leg. Having done the hard part, Mishra put in an awkward dive near the ropes and saw his knee hit the surface hard and it got stuck in the ground. Somehow, the leggie did a tumbling cartwheel and ended up saving the boundary. He did, however, see the funny side of the incident as he returned to his fielding spot with a big smile on his face.

Raina's stunner

However, Raina was at hand to provide some sort of vindication for his team as he took a scintillating catch at deep midwicket and somehow managed to keep his balance a few inches from the ropes.
