India v England | India's predicted XI for the second T20I

Unlike his ODI captaincy, Virat Kohli's reign at the helm of Indian cricket team did not begin on a great note in T20s as India succumbed to a 7-wicket defeat to England in the first T20I of the three-match series at Green Park in Kanpur. The first match was a failure for the batting department as a few batsmen got starts but none of them converted it into a big score. The hosts would want to correct that today to stay alive for the decider.

The most talked about youngster in the Indian domestic circuit might finally get his debut. KL Rahul had a forgettable ODI series and in the first T20I too, failed to make an impact. There's no harm in giving the young Rishabh a go to give him a taste of international cricket.

Suresh Raina

The stylish left-hander played a good cameo in the first match. And everyone knows the kind of impact he can have in a T20 match. There's no one better than him to bat at No.3 in a T20 team. Expect him to keep his position for the match today.

Although Yuvraj failed with the bat in the first T20I, there's no reason to write him off just yet. As he showed in the ODI series, there's plenty left that he has to offer. With Yuvraj comes assured solidity in the Indian middle order. And there is no one better at unsettling the opposition if he gets going.

Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey's career has been one roller coaster ride. Despite his non-performance in the first match, Manish is expected to keep his place in the team. However, with Mandeep Singh also is the squad, he might not get many more chances if he fails in the next two matches.  

Hardik Pandya

Although Pandya disappointed with the bat, he bowled two economical overs during's England chase. Unfortunately, India's target proved too modest. But whenever Pandya is in the field, he is always a part of the action, be it with the bat, ball, or in the field.

Amit Mishra 

Parvez Rassol did not have the debut he'd like to remember. From the national anthem controversy to his own bowling, nothing went his way. However, the reason Amit Mishra will most likely replace him for the match is that the size of the VCA ground would help his leg spin against the English big-hitters.

India's most impressive bowler in the last match, Chahal would be brimming with confidence before the match. Again given the large size of the VCA Stadium in Nagpur, he'll have more freedom to try flighted deliveries in order to create doubts in the minds of the batsmen.

Fast Bowlers

Burmah, who is known for his remarkable economy rate, has now seen his reputation take a beating. But his general consistency with the ball means he would maintain his place in the team despite underperforming in the ODI series and the first T20I.
