Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble has named his dream team from the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The 12th edition of the cash-rich extravaganza has seen some mind-boggling performances and many young guns making an immediate impact with their skills and temperament.

In a video for CricketNext, Anil Kumble has picked his dream team from the ongoing edition of the IPL. The two factors taken into consideration while picking the team are – only four overseas players can be picked and performances from the league stages only will be taken into consideration.

For the opening slot, Kumble has handpicked David Warner and KL Rahul, who have had a prolific run this season. Warner has amassed 692 runs at a blistering strike-rate of 143.86, which is also the highest, while KL Rahul has garnered 593 runs at 135.38.

The middle-order hails of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and the experience of MS Dhoni. Iyer has been instrumental with the bat for Delhi Capitals while Pant has been wreaking havoc in the middle. The skipper of the side without a doubt would be Dhoni, who has led CSK with example.

Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya’s red hot form also see them being named at No. 6 and 7 position in this line-up. Imran Tahir and Shreyas Gopal have spun a series of web around the batsmen this season and their guile has impressed Kumble, who has named the two tweakers in his XI.

Purple Cap holder Kagiso Rabada cannot be ignored if someone is picking their dream XI and so didn’t Kumble. Rabada alongside Jasprit Bumrah will shoulder the pace bowling responsibility in Kumble’s dream XI.

Team: David Warner, KL Rahul, Shyreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, MS Dhoni (wk & c), Hardik Pandya, Andre Russell, Shreyas Gopal, Imran Tahir, Kagiso Rabada, Jasprit Bumrah.
